Water and mold spores are the recipe for home mold infestation, growing in damp places that you may or may not see, such as your basement or attic.

Mold and can grow just about anyplace. The most obvious locations are on walls, ceilings, carpets and around bathtubs. Mold can also thrive in other hidden areas, such as within walls or closets or under flooring. Anywhere there is a lack of light and source of moisture, there is a chance for comtamination.

Excess humidity or moisture from water leaks, pipes, bathtub or shower water condensation can create conditions for mold growth.

Some tips to keep mold growth from appearing:

- Promptly repair any roof leaks or sources of basement dampness.

- Clean up water problems immediately.

- Keep your home well-ventilated, especially bathrooms, kitchens and basements.

Besides it obvious appearance, mold will usually have a musty smell. If you suspect that you have a mold problem, be sure to have a professional removal service to inspect your home.

A moisture... destroyed my first camera. I like water but not humidity - it makes me feel dirty.
